Inside The Farm House

Library and sitting room by the woodstove

Wildflower Farm, is modern construction. It is built using green technology as well as old fashioned building methods. This house, is a replica of a building in Sturbridge Village called The Parsonage or the Solomon Richardson House which dates to the 1740s. Stepping into our home is a bit like stepping back in time. The place has all the modern utilities and fundimentals but it is done tastefully to capture the age of the building upon which it is based.

Lots of country style, rustic and primitive furniture, high quality hand made reproduction antiques, or antique help to maximize on the beautiful character of the house with it's old fashioned wooden beamed ceiling and the wooden beams in the walls that are rarely seen in modern construction. Then there are the wide old plank floor boards, with the finish wearing thin or worn off completely in spots that add character and a feeling of age to our beautiful home and B&B.

Dining Room And Library
Wood Stove
We have a mostly open concept home with a great room that encompasses the library by the wood stove as well as a dining table and kitchen. Then off to the left of the library is the Cafe Primrose gift shop and studio and off to the left of the dining room is the fireplace that houses an old fashioned place to cook and the wood stove. To the left of the kitchen partly closed off to the great room with a wide entrance is our theater room or tv room. On the other side of the fire place is the front entrance and the stairs that lead up to the bedrooms including the rentable rooms we make available to travelers. But our available bedrooms, is for another day. Thank you for coming with me on part of the grand tour.
